about jessie

  The important thing is this
That it does not matter where you are,
What matters is that you do not take your own life for granted.
And love yourself.
It's not what you've got,
It's what you do with it
                       - Jessie Albert

Jessie was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in December 1995. She was 29 years old. She fought leukaemia for two years, always with a burning faith in human nature's ability for self empowerment and healing. Jessie initiated the Resource Center, believing it could restore people's faith in themselves as well as providing access to facilities and information from traditional, complementary and alternative sources.

Jessie believed that at all stages you can empower yourself to be involved in the process of your own healing; that you have many choices open to you, but that you must be active in the process. It is your right and responsibility as a patient and human being to ensure that you have all the information available on the best possible route to take. In this way you can participate in your healing from a position of strength and knowledge and not from fear and ignorance.

Jessie believed that this is the pathway to healing.
